Coffee Talks
Thank you to everyone who attended our first Coffee Talks events. Hosted in conjunction with NARAL, Planned Parenthood Votes Nevada, PLAN, and Wild West Access Fund, these discussions aimed to give teenagers space to discuss how the recent SCOTUS decision on Roe v. Wade affects them and their peers. We were blown away by the turnout, as well as the incredible insight and thoughtfulness of everyone who shared their opinions, personal stories, and ideas. Please keep an eye out for future Coffee Talk events — we would love to hear from all of you again.

October 17, 2021 Program: Every Election Matters
On Sunday, October 17, we held a panel discussion on the importance of local offices and how we can support our local candidates that don't get as much attention. We were excited to have wonderful Nevada women sharing their experiences serving in public office. We learned about the Board of Regents, School Trustees, City Council and Assessors office. Our local elected officials are the ones who dictate the local laws, policies and budgets that affect us the most. Besides voting in local elections, we need to support local candidates in every office, then hold them accountable to make positive changes in our community. Danna Lovell joined us to encourage women to run for office and explain how Emerge trains them to win.
