Thank you to everyone who joined us this month to discuss domestic violence and sexual assault services and prevention, the current challenges, and how folks can get involved and support the movement. We had guest presentations from Beth Flory with SAFE House, Serena Evans with NV Coalition to End Domestic Sexual Violence and Liz Carrasco with Signs of Hope (formerly Rape Crisis Center).
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our March program to learn about Nevada's child welfare system, foster recruitment, and CASA volunteers and how you can get involved. We were fortunate to have child welfare professionals join us for this important discussion.
On Sunday, February 25, we were joined by wonderful community leaders to celebrate Black History Month. Dr. Tonya Wells is the founder of Code Switch. Their mission is to eradicate the educational inequities that Black and other girls of color experience. Ashley Bunton-Dodson is the founder and President of Lovee Inc., dedicated to empowering, motivating & uplifting women to new and exhilarating heights.
We also announced Nevada NOW PAC early endorsements and let you know ways to get involved with the Nevadans for Reproductive Freedom campaign and how to sign the petition for the ballot measure to enshrine the right to abortion in our state constitution.
If you would like to watch a video of the full meeting, a recording is available here.
